The State of Workforce Housing

Our first episode, “The State of Workforce Housing”, features Senator Casey Crabtree and Representative Roger Chase. In the summer of 2021, Casey and Roger chaired and co-chaired the summer study that found the need for additional housing across the state of South Dakota was large. Throughout the episode, Casey and Roger give us an insight into their study findings and how they are committed to solving the housing issue throughout time in South Dakota.

About Senator Casey Crabtree:

Casey Crabtree currently serves as Director of Economic Development for Heartland Energy in Madison, South Dakota. He oversees the economic development programs including grants, energy incentives, and revolving loan funds to facilitate growth in the region. Additionally, Casey has been elected to serve his second term in the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 8. He was elected as Majority Leader by his colleagues for the 2023-2024 session and is chairman of the Senate State Affairs committee and a member of the Senate Commerce and Energy and Legislative Procedures committees. 

About Representative Roger Chase:

Roger Chase is a South Dakota politician and currently serves in the South Dakota House of Representatives. He has represented District 22, which includes Beadle, Clark, and Spink counties, since 2017. He is also a member of the following committees: House Agriculture and Natural Resources and House Transportation.
