Applications for Sustainable Housing Incentive Program (SHIP) Being Accepted

PIERRE, SD – South Dakota Housing is seeking applicants for the Sustainable Housing Incentive Program. The Sustainable Housing Incentive Program (SHIP) is a grant program approved by the South Dakota Housing Board of Commissioners to provide financial security to landlords and financial assistance to service providers to cover direct expenses related to finding and maintaining housing for the “hard-to-house.”

Funding may be used to pay for reimbursement for unit repair, lost rent, application fees, security deposits, and to pay for arrears to assist households in obtaining permenant housing.

Eligible applicants are non-profits, units of local governments, victim service providers, housing authorities and tribal government agencies. The application deadline is at 5 pm CT on Friday, June 28. South Dakota Housing will hold informational calls via Teams on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30 am CT and Tuesday, May 28 at 2:30 pm CT. Interested persons may access the informational meeting online via our website at sdhousing.org.
